Perjury

Perjury is a crime against the administration of justice. It involves making a false material statement which the person does not believe to be true under oath or affirmation or in any other situation where the penalties for perjury are imposed by law. The allegation would include that the person knew and appreciated at the moment of giving false testimony that his or her statement was false.
